Spiritual Development

Lourdes Academy offers students and their families of all faiths a supportive environment where they can develop spiritually.

At the center of our curriculum, students learn the truths and values of our Catholic faith. All students, regardless of religious affiliation or denomination, take religious instruction and attend all liturgy and prayer service. Students are encouraged to be part of the liturgy by participating in various roles during Mass.

Events that strengthen our faith and reinforce our commitment
of service to others include:

  • Box of Joy

  • Foster children supply drive

  • Veteran supply drive

  • Souper Bowl of Caring (5,000 cans to the Lourdes Food Pantry)

  • American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge

  • Daily prayer at the beginning and end of each day during announcements

  • Stations of the Cross during Lent in the church

  • Rosary during the month of October in the church

  • Advent and Lenten retreats with our Middle School students

  • Required service hours for middle school students

  • NUT Day (which stands for No, Uniform, Today) Students may come to school out of uniform, on designated days, by bringing $1.00 to benefit a local charity.

Youth Ministry

Our Middle School students have the opportunity to participate in EDGE Youth Ministry. It provides a safe fun place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge resources speak to the physical, psychological, cognitive, relational, and spiritual maturation of middle school youth. It also prepares them for Confirmation and living a life of service to others.
