Clubs and Organizations

At Lourdes Academy, students can apply what they learn in the classroom in different extracurricular activities. These clubs and organizations offer a conduit to enrich each student's life by allowing them to explore their talents and interests.

Clubs provide leadership opportunities and self-esteem building experiences beyond those which are academic. Through different activities, students bond, build life-long friendship and grow. Although club participation is optional, students are encouraged to participate.

  • Passport Club - open to students in Kindergarten through 4th Grade - students "visit" a different country virtually and learn about their cultures and traditions.

  • National Junior Honor Society

  • Lourdes Academy Geography Bee

  • Scholastic Bookfair at Christmas

STEM

Lourdes Academy aims to provide students with the latest technology and activities that prepares them for their future. We have two STEM focused clubs where
students engage in a variety of hands-on activities using Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. All branches of Science are explored from Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Conservation, Earth Science, Medicine, Physics, and more.

STEM Creations Club

Projects include creating structures and objects that meet various challenges, building and launching model rockets, creating fun models that relate to different branches of science, creating delicious edible treats, simulations of various phenomena, creating fun substances such as slime, playdoh, and various bubbling concoctions, creating electrical circuits, and so much more fun. Our club stimulate students critical thinking and allows them to formulate their own solutions to world problems. It also encourages them to work in groups and collaborate with others.

STEM Robotics

Students have the opportunity to learn the basics of Computer Science by coding. Robotics consists of two clubs: 4th/5th grades and 6th/7th grades. Any eighth grade students interested participate as "Senior Engineers" and help out both clubs and perform more advanced activities. The club starts with block coding to understand the basic components of computer algorithms including loops, if/then, else statements, declaring and using variables, conditionals and more! Our robots consist of the Sphero Bolt Robot where the robotic ball will connect to the student's chromebook and execute their personal program.
